Velorama is situated in the Mühlviertel region in the north of Upper Austria. The area stretches across a variety of landscapes between the Danube, the Bohemian Forest and the borders with Bavaria and the Czech Republic. The cycling experience is characterised by numerous quiet side roads, forest trails, granite paths and scenic hills.
Velorama is aimed at gravel cyclists, road cyclists and anyone who would like to actively explore the Mühlviertel by bike. The range of tours on offer extends from shorter, leisurely rides to challenging routes with significant elevation gain.
The Mühlviertel offers a dense network of side roads, forest tracks and gravel paths, undulating terrain and ridges with stunning views. Velorama lists cycle workshops and repair points in the Mühlviertel. region. In addition, there are public cycle service points at certain locations, equipped with tools and a pump for minor repairs. For more serious faults, you should contact a specialist workshop.

Getting here & planning your stay
Travelling by train and bike is possible, depending on your point of departure and accommodation. For some destinations, you’ll need to continue your journey from Linz by regional train, bus or shuttle. Check timetables, bike transport options and bookings in advance, and arrange any station transfers directly with your host.
Parking is available at many tour starting points, local authorities and accommodation providers. The exact parking arrangements, any charges and access regulations vary depending on the starting point. Please therefore refer to the information on the relevant tour or venue page.
A long weekend is ideal for getting a first impression. If you’d like to combine different parts of the Mühlviertel, several gravel or road cycling tours and stops to sample local specialities, we recommend at least four days. For repeat visitors, the extensive network of routes offers plenty to keep you coming back for more.
Both. Velorama works just as well for a sporty cycling weekend as it does for a cycling holiday lasting several days. Thanks to the wide range of tours and different starting points, you can stay in the same accommodation for several days or combine different parts of the Mühlviertel.

Spring and autumn often offer pleasant temperatures, whilst in summer the longer days are ideal for extended rides.
